🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Voice Displeasure Over Size Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Reaction Countless users and merchants have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Updates Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Manual Updates Another shopper, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said. Service Background The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
