English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
