The Austrian squad has announced a major reshuffle for the 2026 Grand Prix year, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its main squad and giving British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden F1 drive. The young driver, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, will be the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad Racing Bulls. These changes sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid post a half-decade in F1. The New British Hope The British teen drove FP1 for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix in the current season. The youngster was identified as a rising talent by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Discussing the team's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "looks really promising", commending his "pure speed". Red Bull has been working since last year to ready Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, including appearances in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races. The rookie said it was a "proud moment", commenting: "2026 will be a massive test, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and rise to it. I can't wait to get started." He has won two races in F2 this year and is P6 in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. A Major Opportunity for Hadjar Isack Hadjar enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race this season. The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers of the year. He included an remarkable top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies in tenth place in the championship. A senior team figure commented: "Isack has shown great maturity and proved to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed alongside Max." The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "up for the challenge". The Lawson Decision To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have opted for Lawson over Tsunoda. The New Zealander started 2025 with the senior squad but was moved back after just two races. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he deserves more time. Tsunoda, in contrast, has been ejected after a difficult season. His highest finish is a P6, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship. These announcements mean that there remains no spot on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
